How We Create Your Spirit

Consultation

Founded by husband-and-wife team Laurance and Sarah Traverso in 2021, The Coastal Distilling Co. builds on their experience developing gin, rum and own-label spirits for local and national clients.

We start by understanding your idea, brand personality and preferred flavour profile, creating a clear direction for the finished spirit.

Creation

From gin, vodka and rum to custom liqueurs, we develop the spirit and presentation around your brand, audience and intended use. This could include an own-brand product, corporate gift, event bottle or tour merchandise.

From small-batch experimental runs to full commercial production, we tailor the process to suit the scale and requirements of your project.

Completion

Once the recipe and presentation are agreed, we prepare your spirit for production and guide the project through to the finished bottle.

Each project receives careful attention to flavour, consistency and presentation, from the initial idea to final approval.

Breakwater Gin

Bespoke Gin Development for Breakwater Bistro - Brixham

Breakwater Bistro approached The Coastal Distilling Co. with a clear vision: to create two distinctive gins inspired by the English coast and countryside.

They wanted a Citrus & Sea Salt Gin that captured the fresh, bracing character of the shoreline, alongside an English Strawberry Gin that celebrated the flavours of summer.

Working closely with the Breakwater team, we developed two bespoke recipes using our classic coastal gin as their foundation. The result is a pair of gins that feel completely at home in Brixham and reflect the bistro’s connection to the coast.

The Citrus & Sea Salt Gin has become a favourite for coastal serves and G&Ts with a twist, while the English Strawberry Gin comes into its own in spritzes and summer cocktails.

Jack Speak

Bespoke Five-Year-Old Spiced Rum

Jack Speak wanted to create a spirit that reflected the naval heritage and distinctive identity of its clothing brand, while giving its customers something memorable beyond its existing range.

The idea was to produce a five-year-old spiced rum with the same sense of character and attention to presentation found throughout the Jack Speak brand.

Working closely with the team, The Coastal Distilling Co. developed the finished rum and brought the product together through its flavour, bottle and presentation. The result is a distinctive branded spirit that feels considered, recognisable and unmistakably Jack Speak.

Jazz Sabbath

Bespoke Tour Merchandise Gin for Jazz Sabbath

Jazz Sabbath, a touring band known for its fusion of jazz and classic Black Sabbath tracks, wanted to create a distinctive piece of merchandise for its UK tour.

The band was looking for something that felt true to its identity and gave fans another way to connect with Jazz Sabbath beyond the live shows.

The Coastal Distilling Co. worked with the band to develop a bespoke gin and branded bottle that captured the character of the tour. Sold alongside its existing merchandise, the finished gin gave fans something unexpected to take home and added another dimension to the Jazz Sabbath experience.

Wollens

Corporate White-Label Gin for Wollens

Wollens wanted to create a distinctive Christmas gift for its clients and professional partners, reflecting the firm’s personality and attention to detail.

Rather than choosing a traditional corporate gift, the team approached The Coastal Distilling Co. to produce a white-label gin carrying the Wollens identity.

We brought the spirit and branded presentation together to create a finished bottle that felt personal to the firm and memorable for the people receiving it. The result gave Wollens a thoughtful way to thank its clients and partners at Christmas.

Founder and Master Distiller Laurance Traverso has worked in the drinks industry since 2017, developing gin and rum brands alongside own-label spirits for local and national clients.

Real Ingredients

Our traditional and flavoured gins use real ingredients rather than artificial flavour substitutes. If raspberry and rose appear on the label, that is what goes into the bottle.

Selected botanicals used within our Coastal range are grown at Torre Abbey, less than a mile from our distillery.
